during my internship in sandakan (circa may which was six months ago =.=), hommie brought us out for a nature-lurving trip together with some other colleagues one fine day (labour day). we beamed and hopped around da house when she told us da night before. we so wanted to visit our ancestors as it’s one of da must-visit tourist spot in sandakan. and we need someone to bring us there cos we were practically immobilized without chauffeur :P

upon reaching sepilok, there’s a roundabout with an orangutan directing u da way…

i tell u ar, roundabouts are all over sabah. and every roundabout is beautifully decorated one like this one *points up*

and after 1.5h, we reached da destination. yala, we were staying that out of town…

this sepilok orang utan sanctuary is established in 1964 to rehabilitate orphaned baby orang utans and return them to the wild when they are fit enough.

do u know that orang utans (scientifically known as Pongo pygmaeus) are found to be 96.4% similar to our (Homo sapiens sapiens) genes. comparing da skulls above, theirs’ bigger and their farings’ muchy longer and sharper like keongxi (僵尸) le :S
