13.Dec.2009 Brunch@Sim-Sim Seafood Restaurant, Sandakan
we were having our weekly outing with da sitao one saturday…i think it’s an off day that day cos normally i had to work on saturday one…half day though
it’s our last saturday in sandakan
so we pestered sitao to bring us to mum dai fun (大粉, which literally means big noodle, aka kueh teow). and 1.5hours later, we ended up here. yup, we were staying in a desert. sandakan is very popular with this kinda floating restaurants…hidden behind floating houses
aiyo, see also no appetite niao
we still braved ourselves in though
it’s a must-mum sandakan specialty (i think) wei. i have heard about dai fun since day one i landed in sandakan. it was meant to be my first luchie in sandakan, but it’s sold out
ok la, quite clean compared to da previous snapshot phew!
there’s actually two restaurants for us to choose but da other like no many patrons…so we chose this sim-sim seafood restaurant wihch serves no pork
see, we were right, this eatery is femes one. come out in newspaper some more.
but they don’t serve dai fun T______T
nice view emmm…
it’s sour enough, but it would be better if it’s spicier. how can a tomyam NOT spicy le?
soem fresh gems sauna-ing in da soup
others ordered da same wihch is this kon lou min. looked delicious, but im not a fan of kon lou min, so…
whoever will be going to sandakan, u MUST order seafood for every meal okie!
u won’t get such fresh and cheap seafood other than sandakan, kk’s is pricier okie!
沙白, a type of shellfish.
enough said.
these are tong fong lo…i have never seen them in peninsular though
okie, we were satiated. off we went to do our weekly ritual of grocery shopping
