Sibu Trip In Pichas

Category : Point & Shoot, Walk & Run

annant whispers: it’s Theng da ganfuyamfu’s burfday! eppie 23rd woman <3 see ya tonight ;)

places&travel

as u guys know, i was in Sibu last week, with da primary purpose – flee from H1N1! it was a spontaneous decision. we only knew that we had to move out from our dorm da day itself (last Tuesday) as our dorm (out of 5 dorms) were used to accommodate those who (suspected) kena H1N1 :S . so many cases of H1N1 suddenly popped up from nowhere made us so kancheong :S . that’s why we da kiasi fellas fleed like refugees. and we (kiki & i) behpaisehly followed dear roomie back to her hometown – Sibu.

peacey

we survived da 3 hours plus journey! our butts went numb encore after that tho =.=

that was Lawrence da driver’s btw

hearty duvet

that kept me warm at night. i miss aircond~~

bars of orgasmic sweets

muchy thanks to STP

i experience daily orgasm within da span of my stay in Sibu. i was orgasmic when i was doing my revision, especially late at night. that’s why i came back with extra (at least) 1kilo which i seriously don’t need at all. but im not complaining, really.

DSCN7889 copy

me da glutton

da second night was spent over a tableful of yummo dishes with STP and gang

and i adjourned to yamcha at a cafe with really relaxing ambiance with Kiki da lala & Lawr da driver & Xiang da roomie

and we adjourned to King’s.

we were supposed to stay indoor. H1N1 remember? but we couldn’t resist la, must enjoy kao kao before heading back to Bint-ulu

apparently we were da only three kiasi fellas who cladded in mask =.=

people looked at us as if we were da ones who kena H1N1 *touchy wood*

baby baby

she’s sucha cutie. and she’s so sensitive to camera lo, she would grin liddat whenever my lens was pointing at her.  sucha camwhore…tsk

so kiiiuut! *cubit*

and i saw NeoNeo!

this berry sells really delicious beverages and crepes

that’s (stunned) Kiki da lala

pizza tower

spotted a illuminated tower in front of SanYan

veggie | brinjal | choco

we against mamis’ advices (stay indoor blablabla…) that we went shopping. i got a new wallet and kiki got a pair of white high heels which i likey very muchy :D

fatty bom bom

had dinner with roomie’ family on da last night. kiki and roomie kept cajoling me that this fatty bom bom is very da yummo! i don’t get it, why would people ingesting this eww fatty? it’s so disgusting that i almost gagged da moment i put it into my mouth

look up!

warmth chicken soup

i had this tonic everyday. muchy thanks to aunty :D aunty too cooked many delicious home-cooked dishes which reminds me of homesweerhome ^^

da end.

we didn’t really do muchy stuffs in Sibu. most of da time, we preferred to stay in to errr…do revision *shifty eyes* we were there to escape from H1N1 remember? yet, i risked my precious life to movie | shop | dine out | yamcha. well, life’s too short to not enjoy, no?

Ruby Restaurant, Sibu

Category : Meet & Match, Nom & Gulp

ruby

forgotten to take a pic of da jiupai, so i filch this pic from Clare’s.

i have heard so muchy of this restaurant from STP and some other Sibu bloggers. and yesterday i finally had a chance to sample da food myself (thanks to STP!).

instead of me drooling over others’ pics, today im gonna make u guys drool *hand u tissue*

DSCN7793

one of da Sarawak’s budaya

1 FooChow Fried Mee

FooChow Fried Mee

it tasted like DaiLokMin in Peninsular, just that Sibu’s is lighter in color and da mee is skinnier

2 Cangkuk Manis with Eggie

(blurry) Cangkuk Manis with Eggie

campus’s eateries usually cook it with pumpkin and lemak (read: fat fat fat) which i <3 so muchy

3 Midin

Fried Midin with Rice Wine (i think)

veggie we used to order whenever we dine out in Bint-ulu. somehow we got bored of it already that we switched to baby kailan now.

4 Lamb with Mayo

Lamb with Mayo

u don’t really taste da sou mei in this dish. im most afraid of weird tang of lamb and beef! da lemony mayo gravy was really appetising. no, it didn’t manage to stimulate me to order another bowl of rice.

5 Sambal Fish

Sambal Fish

da sambal is yummo! not too spicy not too mild. and da fish is Ikan Bawal Putih (correct me if im wrong)

6 Butter Scotch Prawns

Butter Scotch Prawns

which reminded me of Gardenia! hahaha…i found someonetwo who lurve Gardenia like i do hahaha and they are SARAWAKIAN *cough* Louis J *cough* Richard *cough*. who say Sarawakian doesn’t likey Gardenia ar?

okie, back to da dish. da creamy gravy was very nice too, goes well with rice and mee. but i thought da batter of prawns was a tad thick.

we ordered Sea Cucumber Soup too (which i conveniently forgot to snap as i was busy digging in. ooopps!). there’s really generous amount of sea cucumber in it. but i thought da vinegar taste was a tad overpowering to my liking.

7 Weng Pin

a new friend i made that night

8 Aftermath

aftermath.

which cost 130buck. it was okie i think with seven dishes plus rice plus drink.

and last but not least,

QunKaFok

Front row: Annant|Mrs Wee|Mr Arthur (well-known as STP in blogosphere)|Mr Eng (Penangite)

Back row: Mr Louis J|Mr Richard|Weng Pin

it was a great meet up with STP and gang. no, we don’t have any generation gap whatsoever, i manage to chip in quite well, in case u are wondering la.

it was funny to see them waited patiently (on da surface la, boiling inside, maybe) for me to snap, im da only one snapping (STP been there like 4325432534 times, he didn’t bother to snap niao), typical blogger i am, thanks for bearing with me wei :P

i actually felt awkward to be introduced as blogger. i donno, just somehow, weird. :S

and for da 3524813257832 times,im PURE Chinese!!! i was dubbed Iban, Kadazan, Malay more often ever since i came back from Sabah *bawl*

Category : Breathe & Live, Friends & Kin, Meet & Match, Walk & Run

conclusion: 天下的妈妈都是一样的 (The world is the same mother, translated by FARKTARD GOOGLE TRANSLATOR!!!)

but da world is da same daughter. we all went out hahaha for dinner hahaha for yamcha hahaha and for movie hahaha…

it was an eventful night. we did put on mask in da cinema (how to eat and drink with mask on u show me!).

nice meeting STP (and da Tim Tam) and his Sibuian & Penangite friends . it was my first ever meeting up with blogger , do i sound da same as in virtual world, forgot to ask him bout this =.= i think i was a bit shy in da beginning then started to warm up after awhile. will blog more bout da dinner later. tomorrow, maybe. it’s already 0319! time to hit da sack!!!

on a darker note, i think i put on some weight already and it’s only my second day here seimou. partly, it’s becos of this orgasm choc! im not complaining, give me more of it anytime and i will u bery muchy…

Korean BBQ Steamboat @ Bint-ulu

Category : Nom & Gulp, Point & Shoot

bonappetit

did i ever mention that i underwent a diet plan few weeks back? we (Braine|Chiew|Von|AnnAnt) made a deal that we would treat da biggest loser who lost da most weight in three weeks time! and if u follow me, u would know that i lost ONLY 350g (da weight of a can of drink, like what Haur put it wtf. and now i have regained all da weight i dont need). apparently, im not da biggest loser T-T. Chiew was, with 2.5kg lost. well done babi!

a newly opened korean restaurant in town, located in new Medan Jaya (neh da new Sing Kwong there). we lurve to try out new stuffs, so there we went to review their food! (wah sounds very pro liddat).

there’s two korean restaurant in Bint-ulu now. when’s French, Jap and Italian coming huh?

an old-school cab which chauffeured us. so cutie with da two antenna in front! haha =.= interior is spacious and comfortable tho

interior of da restaurant. spacious + cosy.

it was almost time to knock-off when we reached hence da emptiness. their operation hour is 11-2pm and 6-11pm if im not mistaken la.

condiments.

da left one is garlic juice thingy and da right one is shrimp sambal, very yummy. da garlic’s too bland and i have no idea why it’s served for.

side dish

appetisers. u guys sure know what they are right!

da kimchi was negligible. but da seaweed strip was not too bad

DSCN7613[4]

mix veggie plate plus broth.

there’s other broth which u can choose from, like tofu soup, sea cucumber, seaweed, sweet corn, tom yam and kimchi. these cost 8buck. that’s why we opted da clear broth, FOC ma keke…

DSCN7616

chicken plus fish fillet

they serve beef too, from Aussie and NZ.

DSCN7620

mixture of everything

they serve assortment of seafood and veggie from fish ball,  turkey ham to mushroom.

DSCN7621

sinful potato bites. very very yummy! a must-order highly recommended by us! priced at 8buck, a tad pricey but it’s worth it trust me

DSCN7625

butter milk fish fillet

another side dish we ordered. i thought da batter was thick, it was nice nonetheless.

DSCN7627

nom nom nom

verdict: it was a healthy meal with lotsa veggie and clear broth, perfect for a health-conscious people like me. ahem. total bill = 80+buck, not so friendly to purse.

all in all, it’s a place where we can spend our lunchy hour once in a while. nice ambiance, good service, and with people u <3.

Black Tea

Category : Nom & Gulp, Point & Shoot, Walk & Run

since u guys are keen to find out how Sabah Tea tastes like. so, here it is

disclaimer: i ain’t a pro bon vivant!

first thing first,

black tea

Black tea is a variety of tea that is more oxidized than the oolong, green, and white varieties. Black tea is generally stronger in flavour and contains more caffeine than the less oxidized teas (source). And it contains a number of antioxidants, mainly catechins that have anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic and anti-tumoric properties (whoa!) (source).

cuppa black tea

it has a slightly bitter plus robust rusty taste which i lurve (no im no a mutated ant who live on iron okie!). da bitter might due to i was sipping it while cramming (one more paper to go T-T) to keep myself awake at ungodly hour (which worked horrendously failed FML). black tea has a more subtle fragrance and stronger aftertaste compared to green tea. i especially lurve having a cuppa tea (be it black or green) after meal to flush out da oil. and my tea MUST be served HOT (if it’s teh c peng then another story la).

don’t be fooled by its colour. it might look like foul water taken from public toilet which hasn’t been flushed for years (wtf!), it can actually be sweet (after adding sugar la, i prefer my tea to be kosong tho).

one thing for sure, its colour doesn’t resemble da colour of sabah’s salt water. NOT AT ALL. seriously.
