annant whis­pers: i drafted this post while i was still in san­dakan, it some­how slipped my mind (stu­pid absent-minded) so now im let­ting it sur­face again :D

it was an (then) usual outing-cum-grocery shop­ping sun­day with sitao and friend. (sitao always brings a com­pan­ion cos we have gen­er­a­tion gap so that he has some­one to speak to. it is a 1.5hours jour­ney to town, remem­ber? so far, we met three, mr c, mr m, and mr o)

had bah kut teh as brunch.

da very first day i touched down here (i mean san­dakan), was a sat­ur­day, so sitao thought of bring­ing us out for brekkie da next day before pick­ing up kiki from air­port, he told us,

get pre­pared by 10.30am so that we can have brekkie

by da time we reached town, it was 12pm =.= we were fam­ished like hun­gry ghosts. da next sun­days, we were smarter to have light brekkie at home first.

we ordered,

pai guat (排骨/pork rib)

zhu yuk yun (猪肉丸/meat balls)

sam chang yuk babi yang ada lemak (三层肉/three layer fatty pork)

babi kurus (瘦肉/lean pork)

zhu zak (猪杂/intestines)

har (虾/prawns)

and bo lei shang choi (玻璃生菜/veggie)

*tick-tock tick-tock*

10 mins later, we were served (in no par­tic­u­lar order)

my eyes almost popped out and my jaw almost fell on da table…

sitao said that they serve fish too, in bah kut teh soup of course! it’s sabah style to serve u bowl by bowl. or is this only hap­pen in sandakan?

ver­dict: soup is too hot and spicy to our liking

hot and spicy due to exces­sive of pep­per :(
